In order for the film to be granted a rating in Germany, the censors not only demanded several cuts, but also an alternate ending which explains that Bill was arrested. This change resulted in confusion among the German audience. While attending several screenings in Germany for the sequel Rampage - Giustizia capitale (2014), Uwe Boll was often asked by audience members how Bill could escape from prison. Only there did they find out the truth.
