The Bilgesnipe creature referenced by Thor is an animal native to Asgard in the comics. Many fans assumed the creature seen from Jotunheim in Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013) may have been a Bilgesnipe or a subspecie of the creature but this has since been debunked.
