Laurence Fishburne previously appeared in Apocalypse Now (1979) with Scott Glenn, who played Jack Crawford in Il silenzio degli innocenti (1991). The lead role in that film was originally given to Harvey Keitel, who played Crawford in Red Dragon (2002). Fishburne also appeared on CSI - Scena del crimine (2000), after the departure of William Petersen, who played Will Graham in Manhunter - Frammenti di un omicidio (1986).
