A prog rock theme, liberally adapted from the "Prayer for Peace" from the original film, was composed by musicians Vince Tempera, Franco Bixio and Fabio Frizzi (performing as Magnetic System) for the newly created opening titles and closing credits. The song, simply titled "Godzilla" was later rearranged as the themes for both Zombi 2 (1979) and Paura nella città dei morti viventi (1980).
