Liam Neeson told the producers that he would do a third installment only if "nobody gets taken." Yet his daughter gets taken by her stepfather during the film's climax. But, since Neeson obviously was talking about what sets the plot off, it's still true that "nobody gets taken." The film is not about a kidnapping: it's about a murder and the hunt for an innocent man who simultaneously is trying to find the real murderer.
