Jodie DeFeo, in comparison to her older brother Ronald DeFeo as depicted in this movie, is a fictional character. She is loosely based on DeFeo's real life younger sister Allison DeFeo, who was actually a 13 year old girl at the time of her death instead of a young child as depicted here. The character is taken from Jay Anson's novel "The Amityville Horror" (1977), which had to change the names of the real people that inspired the book for legal reasons.
