Throughout the years many films tried to emulate various aspects of the movie in mostly failed attempts to copy its unprecedented success, one of the more notorious examples being Nicolas Cage's Apache - Pioggia di fuoco (1990), a movie infamously known among its critics as "Top Gun with helicopters."
