The scene where Emperor Palpatine says "I am all the Sith!" and Rey replies, "And I... am all the Jedi" is a direct replication of the climactic "And I... am Iron Man" scene from Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame (2019), which was also produced by Disney. The film came out in April in the same year. That scene was negatively received by some fans, and blamed on J.J. Abrams who has been criticized for remaking scenes from popular films even by George Lucas, and Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson who told him not to just do something he had seen in other movie. As well as Star Trek 2 director Nicholas Meyer, who complained about Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness being a remake of his film, in a similar way to the one Star Wars creator George Lucas complained about the Force Awakens. The similarities with Endgame also include a character arriving along a fleet of support Lando and Black Panther (respectively).
