Brooke Shields, famous for her breakthrough racy childhood role in 1978's Pretty Baby, which featured her nude at the age of 12 (her only career nude scene), turned down the part of Roxanne "Roxy" Hardy. Like most of the high-profile actresses who were offered roles in this film, Shields wasn't interested in taking part in the graphic and revealing scenes that were required of whichever actress was chosen to play the part.
