The scene where Freddy uses Trey's dead body to lure Gibb into his boiler room, is similar to Nightmare - Dal profondo della notte (1984), when he used Tina's dead body to lure Nancy into his boiler room. In the original, Nancy escapes by burning her arm on the pipes. In this one, Gibb is not so lucky.
