The special effects work on this movie was twofold. The first component involved filming the responses off the monitors and screens while the other involved film compositing. "We put helicopters in skies and constructed futuristic buildings to put in skylines because we wanted the thing not to look like Melbourne in 1995", said Digital Effects Supervisor David Nelson.
