In the same year that Richard Harris made this movie, 1968, he also recorded and released his second music album, The Yard Went On Forever. Photography for the album took place during filming of The Molly Maguires. The photo on the front cover is a bleak view of Eckley as it appears in the film. Richard Harris is sitting in the porch of one of the wooden houses. He is shown in color, with trees in the background, whereas the town is in black-and-white and lifeless, conveying the theme of the album, a man recalling his life before a nuclear apocalypse. Other photos from the same session, by Henry Diltz, can be found online, and several (including the sheet music for the album's title track) show Richard Harris in front of the same wooden houses.
