To finance this film, George Lucas approached his father among others for money, which he found troubling since he was raised to loath going into debt, especially to his father who only recently had come around about his son's artistic career. Fortunately, the grand success of the film meant that Lucas had no trouble repaying his father, who was increasingly proud of his son's financial, as well as artistic, success.
