At multiple points in the movie Rosie is seen dancing yet her upper body isn't shown. Instead, the camera frame shoots her feet, with particular notice to her red and white leather shoes. This foreshadows the scene where Jojo finds his mother hanged in the town square in which he looks up to see her shoes and her dead body.
