The first Boeing Superfortress seen in the film is a B-29A, serial 44-61733. It was delivered to the USAAF in May, 1945. It flew with the 498th Bomb Group and then the 66th Bomb Squadron of the 44th Bomb Wing. On August 18, 1952, it crashed while landing at Lake Charles AFB in Louisiana and was written off.
