At the birthday party, one of the kids sees the Ghostbusters and says "I thought it was going to be He-Man." In 1975, Filmation, the animation company behind He-Man e i dominatori dell'universo (1983), produced The Ghost Busters (1975), a live-action series about 2 men and a gorilla who hunt for ghosts. When Ghostbusters (Acchiappafantasmi) (1984) was released in theaters 9 years later, Columbia Pictures had to buy the rights to the title from Filmation. Filmation capitalized on the film's popularity by producing Ghostbusters (1986), based on their earlier series. To avoid confusion, the animated series based on the film was called The Real Ghostbusters - I veri acchiappafantasmi (1986). The Real Ghostbusters - I veri acchiappafantasmi: Ghosts R Us (1986) is about a group of fraudulent ghost fighters, trying to steal the "Real" Ghostbusters' business and thunder.
