As well as utilizing the urban landscape of Adelaide in South Australia, scenes were shot in small towns, a quarry, a winery, even a bowling alley. The film transitions from a domestic base to a road movie. "It was hard not to get carried away with the beauty of some of our locations, like the stunning Horseshoe Bay at Port Elliot, or the wine country in the Barossa Valley", said director Marion Pilowsky. "My job was to make sure that while the film looked amazing we didn't forget the characters. What they did within the frame was always the top priority. With comedy, it's all about action and reaction, and we had to capture every beat."
