William Hootkins, who played Jek Porkins (Red Six), was concerned about his close proximity to a certain pyrotechnic effect that was used to simulate the destruction of his X-Wing. He told the cinematographer, "If I come charging at the camera, you'll know something went wrong". Fortunately, the shot went without mishap.
