The first theatrical movie to be screened in Dolby Stereo. Previously, movies like The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and Mister miliardo (1977) had made use of the sound system with disastrous results. However, technical-minded George Lucas knew exactly how he wanted to incorporate the system, and made it work for his movie.
