The main setting of the "Worst Witch" series is a school of magic, Miss Cackle's Academy. Jill Murphy based elements of school life on her own experiences, as a student of the Ursuline High School, Wimbledon. The school is a Roman Catholic Secondary School for girls aged 11 to 19.
