The swing band was that of Johnny Crawford], former child star of The Rifleman (1958) who, thanks largely to the kind mentoring of series star Chuck Connors was able to avoid the fate of almost every child star of the day. He was able to develop his love for big band music to the point that he enjoyed great success as band leader and singer, making him singularly qualified for his role in this film.
