Towards the end of the movie while Trini is repairing her room, she asks her brothers how do they know the yellow ranger is a boy and not a girl? This is a reference to the original Super Sentai series where the Yellow Ranger was played by a male. This was changed to a female Yellow Ranger in the American series but still kept the male Ranger outfit while morphed.
