John Shaft II (Samuel L. Jackson) complains about being compared to Laurence Fishburne. This is no doubt inspired by an infamous incident in which Jackson dressed down KTLA (Los Angeles) reporter Sam Rubin, who confused him for Fishburne regarding a recent commercial. Further, Jackson and Fishburne were up for the same roles in the '90s. Namely, Pulp Fiction.
