When Gondorff, Hooker and Lonnegan arrive in Chicago on the 20th Century Limited, they walk out of the actual LaSalle Street Station, which was the Century's Chicago terminus until it ceased operating in 1967. That version of the station fell to the wrecking ball in 1981 and a modern skyscraper was built on that spot, although the station itself still exists albeit as a modern commuter station for Chicago's METRA commuter service.
