Like Bill Murray, Rick Moranis also admitted to being very disappointed with the final film. He was offered a chance to cameo in the reboot Ghostbusters (2016) and the direct sequel to this film, Ghostbusters: Legacy (2021) and briefly considered coming out of his long acting hiatus to play Louis Tully again but he ultimately declined to do so saying his disappointment with this sequel and lack of what he thought was a good story for the latter films convinced him not to reprise his role.
