In both the movie and Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 #300, the despondent Eddie seeks refuge in church and asks God for help, but with drastically different prayers. In the comic, he prays for forgiveness for the suicidal thoughts he's been contemplating, while in the movie he asks God to end his suffering by killing his rival Peter Parker on his behalf.
