Jeff Bridges, who plays the title character, would later star in K-PAX - Da un altro mondo (2001), where he plays a psychologist treating a man (Kevin Spacey) who claims to be an extraterrestrial visitor. Interestingly enough, in the original "K-PAX" novel, the extraterrestrial visitor is a fan of the movie Starman.
