The proton packs were much heavier than they looked. Some were heavier than others, depending on what a scene demanded. According to Ivan Reitman, none of the actors enjoyed wearing the packs, but Harold Ramis complained the least. Reitman wouldn't say which actor complained the most. However, he did strongly imply it was Murray.
