The facility where Dr. Selvig is studying the Tesseract is Plum Brook Station, a NASA facility near Sandusky, Ohio. For many years, its existence was hidden from the public. It has the largest vacuum chamber in the world as well as the largest vibro-acoustics chamber. This facility tested the Tesla Roadster to make sure it would travel safely into space aboard the Falcon Heavy Lift Vehicle.
