The high-pitched cry at the beginning of the Zambili attack is actually the call of women. It is usually representative of excitement, celebration, or in times of war, of encouragement for when the men leave for battle. As women do not participate in the fighting, their cry would not be heard. This recording was done in a village with the men and women recreating the "pep rally" of a war dance.
