The opening scene of Milo as a young child in Britannia takes place in 62 CE, the year an earthquake shook Pompeii and damaged it severly. Some damaged structures were not repaired by 79 CE. This earthquake was a precursor to the Vesuvius eruption in 79 CE, depicted in the film.
