Nicholas Hammond had previously appeared in The Sound of Music with Christopher Plummer. In The Amazing Spider-Man, Peter is played by Andrew Garfield, who appeared with Plummer in Parnassus - L'uomo che voleva ingannare il diavolo (2009).
