Malin Akerman, Alice Eve and Rachel Nichols were reportedly going to be cast in the film as either Sharon Carter or Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel. Akerman told E! online that her involvement with Marvel Studios is just a rumor. Yvonne Strahovski was also being rumored for Ms. Marvel.
