A more in-depth love story between Jed (Patrick Swayze) and Toni (Jennifer Grey) was cut from the final movie at Swayze's suggestion as he didn't feel it would work in the context of the film's plot. Coincidentally, both stars would later go on to appear romantically in Dirty Dancing - Balli proibiti (1987).
