Pay close attention to the way Ghostface kills their victims in the film. They always use their left hand. The killers are eventually revealed to be Mickey and Mrs. Loomis. Throughout the film Mrs. Loomis, under her alias Debbie Salt, uses her right hand. Mickey is left handed. Mrs. Loomis intentionally killed with her non-dominant hand as part of the plan to have Mickey take the blame for all the killings, as he agreed to it. The authorities would definitely get suspicious if some of the kills were done with a right hand even though Mickey is left handed.
