Alongside Quentin Tarantino's involvement in the film and Pulp Fiction (1994) being on TV in the hostel, there is another reference to Tarantino when Paxton sees one of his enemies (Natalya) and runs her over near the end of the film. A similar scene took place in Pulp Fiction, when Bruce Willis' character did the same to Ving Rhames' character.
