The third Scream film following Scream 2 (1997) and Scream 3 (2000) to feature a surviving main character from a previous installment return and be murdered by Ghostface. In fact, this film marks the first time that *two* survivors are killed as Judy Hicks and Dewey Riley, both of whom survived Scream 4, are killed. The same had been done with Randy Meeks in Scream 2 and Cotton Weary in Scream 3.
