The breed of the white dog in the film was believed to not be a white Alsatian Dog, as has sometimes mistakenly been said, but a white German Shepherd Dog. They are, however, one and the same dog breed. The Alsatian Dog was the name for the breed in the United Kingdom until 1978, when it was changed back to the German Shepherd Dog.
