The song Dyanoba Mauli tukaram that the dabbawalahs sing in the train during the middle and at the end of the movie is in praise of Sant Tukaram and Dyaneshwar, who were the pioneers of Bhakti movement in Maharashtra. The song is a reference to the varkari tradition of Maharashtra. The word Mauli means mother, a fond moniker for the revered Dyaneshwar.
