Christopher Reeve appeared on Muppet Show (1976) as himself in 1980, right about the time Superman II (1980) came out. Although he never appeared in costume; there were constant references to and jokes about him being Superman throughout the show. Interestingly, this come out the same month Lynda Carter (AKA Wonder Woman) appeared on the show as well. Adam West (Batman) would appear on Muppets Tonight (1996); a sequel series to the Muppet Show, Michael Keaton (Batman) would appear in Giallo in casa Muppet (1981), and Michael Caine (Alfred from Batman franchise) would star in Festa in casa Muppet (1992).
