After Coach Nickerson refuses to accept Stef's apology and says he's played his last game, Stef doesn't wear his Ampipe letter jacket for the rest of the movie. This symbolizes Stef's separation from his football dream of a college scholarship. He's no longer on the team and Nickerson is blackballing him with college recruiters.
