Although Walter Hill had wanted to direct Revenge (1990), with Jeff Bridges starring but Bridges wasn't interested - during the mid-1980's - the pair did make Wild Bill (1995) together. In fact this film has been compared by Adrian Turner from Radio Times to Wyatt Earp (1994), which also starred Kevin Costner in the following extract: "American audiences found the film easy to resist, but it oozes period atmosphere and stands with Kevin Costner's revisionist Wyatt Earp as an epic of disillusionment".
