We learn that Gary was selected for the hunt because of his controversial conspiracy podcast that propagated the fake Manor-gate news, and Crystal was confused with a woman who verbally attacked Athena Stone for it on social media. The nine visible pictures on the wall on Athena's house give some clues as to why some of the others were targeted: Dead Sexy wears a "Gun Sl#t" shirt, and she and Target hold guns, so they are probably militant nationalists; Vanilla Nice's picture is a mug shot; Big Red holds an anti-gay sign; Staten Island is presumably walking in a white supremacist rally; Yoga Pants presumably poses next to a conservative politician at the Capitol; and Big Game Shane hunts endangered rhinos.
