Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Linda Cardellini, and Matthew Lillard, who previously portrayed Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy in the first two live action Scooby-Doo films, were not asked to reprise their roles for this film. Neil Fanning, who voiced Scooby-Doo in the live action films, was also not asked to reprise his role for this film.
