Michael Byrne, who played Holocaust survivor Ben Kramer (the man who identifies Kurt Dussander in the hospital), has played a full spectrum of WWII Holocaust-themed characters. Byrne is coincidentally better-known for his roles as Nazis in Force 10 from Navarone and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Byrne also played General Friedrich Olbricht, one of the main men responsible for a secretive real-life plot to assassinate Adolph Hitler, two different films: The Plot to Kill Hitler and Nighy in Valkyrie. Unfortunately the real Olbricht was unable to stop Hitler or the Holocaust, but had nearly succeeded in a plotted coup against the German dictator along with other insiders who had joined the plot.
