Jason Miller's youngest son, Jordan, was struck by a motorcycle on the beach and was in critical condition for ten days during the filming of The Exorcist. Jason Miller had to perform the emotional scenes with his mother in the hospital, while Father Thomas Bermingham, who appears in the film, kept vigil by his son's side in the hospital himself throughout those ten days.
