After the trial, as Sir Wilfrid witnesses the quarrel between Leonard and Christine, he is shown playing with his monocle, whose reflection shines a light on the knife just as Christine notices the weapon she then seizes and uses to stab Leonard. This may imply that, either deliberately or subconsciously, Sir Wilfrid wanted Christine to see the knife and possibly use it against the traitorous Leonard.
