This is the third time Vijay has acted with Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He previously acted with Kajal in Thuppakki (2012) and Jilla (2014). He previously acted with Samantha in Kaththi (2014) and Theri (2016), the latter which was written and directed by Atlee as well.
