Since this film is under Disney's Touchstone brand, it contains various homages/parodies to Disney films and tropes. One of the stereotypes it pokes fun at is the "Disney death", which is when a major character seems to die only to be magically rejuvenated or revealed to have survived whatever misfortune had befallen them. This cliché is spoofed twice in the film: Once when Tybalt smashes into a brick wall (only to be glued back together in the finale) and again when it seems Gnomeo survived the destruction of the garden only for the Mankini Gnome to appear instead (before Gnomeo and Juliet are revealed to be truly alive and unharmed).
