This is the second film in a row made by Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin to feature an imitation of Elvis Presley and his trademark "Thank you very much!" line. In Independence Day (1996), Jeff Goldblum says it at the end, and in Godzilla, Jean Reno uses it in a perfect Elvis imitation when he tries to pose as a US soldier.
